Floor Installation

Properly acclimating wood flooring helps prevent expansion, shrinkage, dimensional distortion or structural damage. Some seasonal shrinking and contracting is unavoidable.

Preparing the subfloor is a critical step whether the subfloor is concrete or wood. We make the surface is sturdy, secure and free of debris.

Now it’s time to lay your hardwoods! This step will differ based on the type of hardwood floor and the installation method used.

If needed, transition strips are installed in a doorway where two flooring materials meet. The flooring materials can be the same or they can be different.

Sanding is critical to an attractive, durable finish. We sand hardwood flooring several times, with successively finer grades of paper.

After the floors are sanded and thoroughly cleaned, we apply stain allowing it to fully penetrate before the excess is wiped off.

While floor sealers protect floors by penetrating into the pores of the flooring material, the floor’s finish is, the surface layer that protects the floor from damage.

The final step in the process is to install baseboard and shoe mould. Trim adds the finishing touch to beautiful hardwood floors.
